I can't believe that the missile was designed to see American flares but not soviet-style flares? How dumb can they get? Train as you fight! The whole third world has this kind of stuff available so why can't the USAF contractors have used this instead? Good thing we found out now. Can you imagine the F-35 not being able to defend itself because it's missiles or looking for a different heat signature? Good thing you found out now! We pay too much for bad missles!

There's a reason why they include countermeasure dispensers on aircraft. What I find interesting is that there's no mention of chaff being fired by The SU-22.
