How Did The National Anthem Get To Be A Mainstay Of Sports In The First Place?

Back when the NFL and other major sports were forming, this country's sense of moral decency, respect for elders and authority, conservative values, and national patriotism was intact and unquestioned. A few generations later, say the late 1960s, things like those had started going to Hell in a hand basket. That trip was completed several years ago. Ruled now by courts and politics that are dictated by the decadence and lack of moral turpitude of the dregs of society, the United States of our grandparents is long dead and buried. I wouldn't give you two cents for America today.
