How Do We Help the Homeless?

This is one of the best discussions I've heard about homelessness in a long, long time. It is the Gordian Knot of our time. Our VFW post is dealing with those who are on the edge of the abyss, about to become homeless because they can't pay this month's rent or about to lose their car, and thus their job, because of an unexpected expense, such as a medical bill. But homelessness is a completely different issue. We're working with our host city on the issue and making some slow, very slow progress, but I wouldn't go so far as to say we have a "solution".
