The current administration is announcing POTUS is taking executive action to enact more controls on purchasing weapons. Evidence shows that banning guns nor making them harder to attain has worked in the places it has been enacted like in Chicago and Washington, D.C. both of these cities are among those with the highest gun related crimes in the country. Britain banned guns and 15 years later we can see that gun related crimes are above the preban numbers. If banning or putting obstacles into place for acquiring something actually worked then we wouldn't have the problems we see today with narcotics.

I can speak from first hand experience that gun control in England doesn't work. Criminals are starting to use guns more and more often there and police are pretty powerless to stop it as many of them do not carry guns themselves.
When I was stationed in London I had a "bobby" knock on my flat door one morning while he was investigating a shooting that occurred outside my apartment building and he did acknowledge that gun violence was on the rise in England.

CPT (Join to see), If killers and crooks want guns, there are always a way for them to get a gun. No gun control on earth works, except in communistic countries. If someone wants to kill another person, nothing can stop them once their mind is made up. Everyday, here in Houston, there is at least one murder a day, sometimes two or three, and not all of them used a gun. It's getting so bad, I carry almost everywhere I go. Obama is hell bent on gun control, and he will go around the Senate and Congress to get his way. But, just as he is trying to change what our Constitutional 2nd Amendment is, his "jumping the gun" so to speak will be challenged all the way to the Supreme Court, and that can take years to be decided. IMHO

Its not EASTERN boys, it's "East END" boys. London is socially divided with the West end girls and boys being the preppy snobs and the Eastenders being the "common" (cockney) folk.
