Israel had American tanks and a wide collection of American armament.

They have always been vigilant and ready. They have to be. While in Haifa and area I was amazed to see teens at bus stops in uniform carrying Uzi's on their way home. I like their mandatory service for life. Everyone serves a hitch and is in reserves for life. They are also short on talk and long on actions. They can't afford not to be ready. I wish they could resolve the Palestinian dispute. It would go a long way toward stability for the region. No reason to believe that after a couple thousand years it will finally be resolved though. Both sides want their way, hence no compromise. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting history. Another great bit of history is how the the British used early warning systems and skillful deployment of their lesser numbers to always have aircraft awaiting the Germans during the battle of Britain.
