When you have millions living shoulder to shoulder breathing down each others necks then a mask will help to curb some of the coughers and sneezers. In AZ and NW New Mexico, the 27,000 sq mile Navajo reservation with 175,000 members are starting their third month of curfews, very restrictive lockdowns and mask requirements with no slowing of infection rate, or at least positive testing. With a population of just 7% of the entire state of N.M. they have 66% of tested positives for the state, and over 52% of declared virus deaths for that entire state. Says something about living habits and conditions for both the Hong Kongers and the tribe. The other half of the tribes population live off the reservation without the infection ratio of reservation dwellers so it doesn't appear to be a genetic disposition to get the virus as some think. They still as of today seem to be making little headway in controlling the virus within their border.

It's more than the masks...it's overall hygiene. And that society is pretty comliant on that score. We are far more diverse with diverse standards.
