What is the relevance of race, religion, whatever? An act of great heroism and supreme sacrifice stands above all that nonsense.

I thought about that too CPT Jack. I guess it's supposed to make the story more credible. I don't know. Sounds like a letter to the editor is needed.

What you say is obv true, certainly...such things shouldn't matter, though, as also mentioned here, there are instances when such things are noted, and/or seemed noteworthy, if only as historical punctuation marks, a phraseology I'd run across some time agi...that dates, historically, only serve that purely intellectual, cultural, and/or sociological function...in an ideal world, one would suppose that such criteria would be overlooked, or deemed irrelevant, as to that, I of course agree...that being said, no society being perfect, that's why I'd expect such note is taken of such aspects, possibly as a societal recognition of the limitations of that society itself, by itself...that, at least, is how I view the categorization of such factors historically...I obv wish society didn't need to keep such markers and/or signposts for itself, and I'm not saying the need to keep them is good...I'm merely biting the predilection society has with keeping them at all, and trying to analyze something of the psyche behind that apparently very real human tendency to make note, at the very least, if such asoects, whether right or wrong...obv, it's be good if society didn't have a need to do so, as you'd suggested, of course....

Sorry for typos, I'd obv meant noting that predilection, of course...though you do raise an admittedly interesting philosophic point, certainly....

I'd heard the story, I think on here awhile back, though I'm uncertain, it's a good piece, though, certainly....
