I want to thank you for the referral to this new book but I'm not sure I should. I know I'm going to read it even though I don't want to, but have to. It's the "train wreck" we can't stop watching. We can't just turn away from horror or we'll just keep seeing it. We can't walk away from it because it will always be in our path.

It's a catch 22 for sure. I prefer facing up to it and telling it, it doesn't have me in its crosshairs anymore. If you tell yourself that enough times, you begin to believe it. Lol

Thank you for the post Keith, You are one of the Nam guys that is trying to breach the gap. I have been having an on going discussion with a Nam Vet that says we haven't seen real war and only the Nam Guy's and the WWII guy's get it and he never even gives Korea any voice. I have gotten to him though have found some videos of Iraq and AFG and believe it or not have a video of my IED hit. He watched them and is now changing is mind. The bottom line is all of us are brothers in arms that have experienced stuff that less then .5 % of population will ever know and because of this we need to respect each other and help each other... my 2 cents....

Thank you for the post CPO Wheeler. I would be so embarrassed if I tooted a horn about my experience being more dangerous than any other war. I don't know why he says that. Either he's a wanna be or he doesn't respect other military who have been in a war. If I heard a Nam vet saying that I would call him out on it. I don't like blow yards and show offs. We were no better than anyone before us nor anyone after us. I respect the ME vets with all my being. Thank you for your service.

It is funny, I often say how I hate that you guys (Vietnam Veterans) had it so much worse than we did. You had dense jungles and tunnels that that was in their backyard, not to mention the difference in technology from then to now. God Bless you brother!

Thanks SPC(P) Jay Heenan, but I think these guys today have it worst. There were booby traps in Nam, but nothing like what's in the ME wars. There were a lot of injuries and some deaths, but not as many as we read about today. We didn't have Vietnamese blowing up themselves. If I had a son or daughter in the ME, I would be more worried about tha, than being in a war like we were. We fought man to man, not by those dirty IED's. IMO
