Depending on the age of the person you met, the industry and the culture of the company. Old school folks prefer thank you notes handwritten. It's nice but for me an email is just fine. Most people don't do either these days, which is sad, so I think taking the time to do either is good.

That's so true Cathy. My wife is adamant about send thank you notes. My adult kids don't send anything. They're just glad,whatever they received, they received it.
