One of the few times I saw mirage added into the discussion about wind. If you are shooting beyond 600 yards, where you see the target from your position, may not be where the target is physically located downrange. There is a lot to long range shooting, and now at my age, I can no longer take those long shots. About 500 yards is now my max.

I am disabled now and this post is great for someone who can get out their and do the type of shooting this article describes. I am relegated to shooting up close and personal.
