LTC Ford brings up a good point, the costs of the education will pay off later on, but in the meantime how does the 9/11 bill match up with educational costs? Does Ivy league schools give the in state rate? I'm no expert, but if the 9/11 pays 60k total,(for ex) the SM will come up very short. I hope someone who knows more can chime in. This is a good look for troops.

Most of these colleges have a Yellow Ribbon scholarship that covers the difference. It depends on the school how many scholarships they offer per year.

Make sure you have the gpa and test scores! They only want prestige students! Make sure you have all of you transferable credit from the military if they accept them!

Thanks for sharing SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
My two younger sisters were accepted into an Ivy League School; but, I decided to enlist because I wanted to be a soldier since I was very young.
The Ivy League Schools tend to be very expensive. Hopefully any veteran attempting to get into an Ivy League School will have some very could advisers to help them navigate admissions.
