Because some of these programs are fully capable of funding themselves, many NPR programs are commercially viable. The NEA awarded part of a cash prize (read tax payers money) for a piece of art that involved a crucifix in urine. Now why should my tax dollars fund that which is offensive to millions of Americans? Oh never mind. These same brave individuals will never do a piss Mohammad.

I can explain the rationale, SSG. It's because those programs are not Constitutional functions of the federal government.

Of course if we go down that path neither is Social Security or Medicare, both of which Trump said he will keep so I doubt that's his justification.
