This is a fantastic idea, I've long thought that classes on firearm safety and marksmanship should be offered in schools. Would go a long way to educate young people who are increasingly ignorant about guns.

If we're going to be a society in which any citizen has the right to own a firearm, and we are, then we should definitely be teaching our citizens how to safely handle them.

I couldn't agree more! I mean, there is no shortage of people who are either totally anti-gun, ambivalent about the topic, or own firearms but fail to provide education to their children about them.
