I often wonder about this. Our environment over thousands upon thousands of years has created within us a view of how the world works. We pursue this with a linear logic formed by our environment. There are things that pop up that show there is more going on. Subatomic particles reacting to being observed, teleportation has occurred etc. Would an alien who went through a different process during their evolutionary development think and see their world in a less linear way and grasp the complexity of the universe quicker allowing development of superior technology more rapidly? Space aliens may not look different but their mental processing maybe much different. Perhaps artificial intelligence may allow us to advance more rapidly in the fashion of the alien intelligence I imagine may exist. I think of the fighter aircraft film of the 40 foot long tic-tac May demonstrate this advanced technology. https://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-manage-quantum-teleportation-between-computer-chips-for-the-first-time
Physicists Just Achieved The First-Ever Quantum Teleportation Between Computer Chips
As 2019 winds to a close, the journey towards fully realised quantum computing continues: physicists have been able to demonstrate quantum teleportation between two computer chips for the first time.

We are essentially the apex predators on our planet. I would say that that the odds of any dominant species on another planet being the same is probably pretty high.

A couple of Brainiacs like Stephen Hawkings, and Kit Thorne believe that too. That Predators reach the Apex...and we wouldn't want to meet them if they had a head start.

Here are my thoughts...I think there is life on other planets, and I believe they are very much "like us". The whole UFO and alien phenomenon is most likely attributable to three elements: mis-identification, fantasy, and intentional deception. However, I do believe in supernatural forces that may masquerade as "space brothers", ghosts, etc.
