The problem I have with a lot of these stories is that I have been out of work and reliant on government help every 2.5 years. There is help out there, but sadly, the "help" does not make house calls. You have to get up off of your butt and go apply. So young mom needs to sadly have the kid taken away - put in foster care - and then apply some beatings to find out why she's too "smart" to fix her situation. Especially in Florida (where I live) where the application process is dead simple.
