Myself and several other people are in the process of starting a community for Homeless Veterans in NE Georgia. We are currently incorporated in the state of Georgia under Vet Comm, Inc. and are awaiting our IRS determination letter so we can put together the funding, we applied for it several months ago but the IRS has it's own pace. Our design is different than other housing options I have seen as it is designed to become self supporting after a few years. We will offer transitional housing for any male or female Veteran, their immediated families and pets. Permanent housing will be available once the Veteran is stabelized and back on their feet. As we will be located between Atlanta and Greenville, along I-85 we expect to draw homeless Veterans from across the SE. The area is rich with open land, mountains and lakes, all of which offer therapeutic opportunities and easy access to the VA and employment opportunities. We are looking at purchasing over 100 acres so we can have livestock and grow our own produce that will not only be used for internal use, but the excess can be sold to support and grow the community. The full ins and outs of the community are too extensive for this forum but if anyone is interested in helping, or would like to be kept informed of the progress we are making please drop me a note.

Definitely praying for this woman thanks for sharing Capt Dwayne Conyers I have ministered to the homeless in NYC and it's hard because you want to fix it for them but they have to do it for themselves and for the right reasons.
