Good morning LTC,
Thank you for the post on this continued issue.
With the recent AQ Mosque meeting being blown up and last week's building destruction with ISIS and civilians, do you get the impression the gloves are off?
Thank you for your response in advance.

No - do not think so. This is a WWI offensive - or perhaps trying to take Sevastopol type battle (minus the siege guns you need for a city fight). As they start to get to the real old city - then we will see if gloves are off.... and if they are - how long till the next fight starts when this one is finally done. The question remains - WHY attack a fortified city - when you have not cut it off? Mobile offensive in the west would spell the end and allow for a 360 degree attack cycle - and yet were is that advise from the US....

It would be interesting to ask the DOD Director his thoughts on this issue.

I kind of wonder when yous end a good leader in to command the Coalition and advise the Iraqi Army.... if sending in a light infantry guy was as smart as sending in a former ACR or Stryker BDE CDR.... it shows.
