I am heavily involved in boy scouts and in message from our chief scout executive they have hired an attorney but they have not filed yet and the part about the Norman church is wrong the Norman church only accounts for 5%of the scouts

SPC Gary Welch, I checked with other sources and they were almost unanimous that bankruptcy had not yet occurred, so I changed the link to more accurately reflect the current situation. However, considering the staggering lawsuits that face the organization, it’s not likely it will have another alternative.
I can’t really comment knowledgeably about what percent of the organization is Mormon.

One of my greatest regrets, SPC Gary Welch, is not staying the course and becoming an Eagle Scout. I made Star and had enough merit badges for Life. We then relocated to Jacksonville, FL and I thought I was much too mature to continue. I also had lost the peer pressure of lifelong friends. Ultimately, I have only myself to blame.
I’m certain that the BSA of my time would be virtually unrecognizable today, and I’m also certain that I would not be comfortable in the organization as it exists today.
Here’s a photo of me (third from the right, second row) from 1961 with Troop 83 of Homewood, AL. I was a First Class Scout in the Beaver Patrol. We met in a chapel of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. The patch on my right breast pocket is for Camp Arrowhead, which was located on Lake Mitchell, AL.

LTC Stephen C. I was never a Boy Scout, but I used to respect the organization until the last few years. They have made some very poor decisions in recent years, so filing bankruptcy goes hand in hand with bad decision making.

What are the decisions you believe to be poor in recent years?

Sadly you have allowed the media to make your decisions for you since have never been affiliated with the scouting program but you are going to crash it any way. Step forward volunteer in a unit and mentor some youth.

SGT Don Sanker - The media has not made nay decision for me. I make my own. I have mentored youth, and it is an enjoyable experience.
