This is my guess on what the article is going to say.
The F-35 would go into a standoff battle with the SU-35 and in which the SU would dump chaff and flares while doing aerial maneuvers to try and avoid being hit by the missile, which it would try and close the gap and engage with it's missiles, which would have a 65% chance of hitting, then the two fighters would break contact and head back to base or the SU would try and engage the F-35 in a turn n'burn contest in which that is the SU's strength and the F-35's weakness.
Off I go to read.
I was pretty close on stating the worst case scenario for a F-35

great piece and good efforts to replace the Navy/Marine work horses, with a proven Aircraft...
The Designers should have been working on the technology and the replacement Aircraft with Future technology and not the Older and compromised Technology...
