It was planned and halted. They've been waiting for the right opportunity to finish it:
Krzanich said the company had been “working on this for several years,” but that it is only now worth making the investment. He added that Intel was making the announcement “in support of the tax and regulatory policies that we see the president pushing forward, that are favorable to making this kind of investment.”

Yep they were waiting for the right opportunity which could mean after a meeting with Trump....anything. I won't bother speculating. Happy for AZ and I'm sure the GOP Congressmen and governor are very happy too.

SSG Ryan R. - I am not even sure how to answer that lol. Just because it may be perceived as a slight which causes undo emotional pain for no readon, does not mean that is the reality nor fake news. Fake news is not news that one does not like or agree with, but that is another subject and not the topic of discussion so in keeping with the topic I would say that reading both articles you will see my skepticism of Intel

I've said it before and I'll say it again: as of now, President Trump has done nothing to earn my support, trust or respect. Having said that, if he manages to do that by making life better for *ALL* Americans, I'll be the first one in line to vote for him if he decides to run for reelection.

Pretty much feel the same way. But I can't argue with the energy his team has and the early successes he's had already. Producing more jobs and building IT factories in the US is a significant win for the US and *ALL* Americans.

It's not being moved, it getting restarted.

But just keep criticizing. It's not like Intel could have taken the factory outside the US as a lot of IT factories have done.

Being that I am always skeptical when things like this are "announced", I shall reserve full judgement and will say good that Intel is doing this. I look forward to hearing more details.

And that would be prudent as President Obama also worked with Intel for this exact same factory. Trump's part in this role is to make good on the promise to ease taxes to companies investing in American jobs.
