Everyone should eat as much lionfish as possible. Those things are serious bad news in the Caribbean and Atlantic. I hear they are actually quite tasty!

That's what I want to hear. I might have to make a trip to whole foods to give it a try.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel No firsthand experience yet, but a friend said similar to Tilapia?

Capt Richard I P. - Forget it then Tilapia is used to clean Fish Pens from Industrial Fish Farms after the other fish have gunked it up. Tilapia is some nesting tasting bottom feeders in my book. Never was a fan.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I'd say give it a shot from the "try anything once" approach. Especially since Lionfish so need to be hunted to extinction in the Atlantic and Caribbean. You'll be doing your part! and Maybe that friend was mistaken!

I'm kinda interested in the Flavor. If you try it you'll have to tell the rest of us.

I mean, I love salmon, even though I can never get my wife to try any, she says she can't stand it, lol, but wow, there's a limit, you know? Lol....

Capers I never tried, my wife has, says they're really salty, I'd be interested to try them. The eagle story is cute, that must have been neat, though I never had the heart for fishing, for some reason, when I was a kid, my next younger brother and I when we'd go with our mom and dad away every summer to a lake, we'd fish for sunnies, so called, I never had the heart to hook them then take the hooks out, ya know? Shark I've wanted to try, I may have tried many maji, I can't recall, I once nearlymgot alligator never did, though was tempted, told it tastes like chicken, lol. Interestingly, abalone, on3 of the concj shells, Korean soups use it, REALLY REALLY spicy, love it, great stuff, honest, really really yummy, lol.

Capt Daniel Goodman - When it comes to Seafood I will damn near eat anything that doesn't eat me first. Shark is not that Impressive as far as flavor, actually it is kind of bland and all the flavor comes from the spice. Some not so Reputable Food Establishments will cut shark into small circles flavor it with ground up powdered shells from Crabs and the such and sell it as very expensive Scallops.
