The UK is pushing for this technology so they can control/regulate traffic. If/when we have self driving cars this may be a good thing, meanwhile this looks like trouble to me. The lack of security alone should raise a red flag.

Car producers aren't thinking of technological threats when designing vehicles, nor is the technology installed for government control. It's meant for ease, yet designed with lack of foresight for potential threats. Teslas can be controlled from a cell phone if one was so motivated.
