What the video doesn't show: Did the victim try to run down any officers or pedestrians in his attempt to elude police. From the video it looks possible. That's attempted homicide. Stealing cars or car jacking that is a well a felony. And if the victim tests positive for GSR that's another attempted murder with a firearm. Either case this young man's life is wasted in prison or dead at the hands of the police.
Not saying cops are right or wrong but the victim here created and caused the confrontation with police when he decided to steal cars. He could have made better life choices and prevented this as well. His criminal behavior was a choice he made.

SSG Trust Palmer - if this kid would have tried to run a check point in a combat situation he would have been shot on full auto. I see this as a failure to instill respect for other peoples property and for authority. Unfortunately he learned respect the hard way while tragic no sympathy. You make bad choices bad thing are going to happen.

SPC David S. - There's always an outcry. The media doesn't show with the community gets upset about crime within the neighborhood... Why would they? However, we can do better but that's not what this is about.

SPC David S. - You can't always blame the parents. That's bull! Sometimes children do the total opposite of how they were raised. No excuse for his behavior, but wrong is wrong and that wasn't right... Any of it.

SSG Trust Palmer - No I'm not blaming the parents this guy was old enough to know right from wrong.

I liked this because I think all criminals should be shot, not housed with free food and shelter at the expense of the tax payer. He asked: are we making any progress here? I would say yes. That's one less criminal stealing cars in the neighborhood. "remember jimmy who stole that car, drove at police, resisted arrest, got shot, and died?" I guarantee that gets the attention of the other criminals more than "Jimmy sold drugs, stole a car, got pardoned because he said he was a good guy and his mom remembered which man was jimmy's father and spent 3 weeks on the national news crying for attention *laughter*." This is a win by all accounts. We need more good police work in chicago.
