Do not kid yourselves, ISIS has gone to ground and into Africa. While this signals the current end of the ISIS Caliphate, the real work is ahead. Because of the shear destruction and desolation of the physical infrastructure coupled with the extensive dislocation of the Syrian population, expect decades of work to rebuild and revitalize this region. I am calling this a festering wound for humanity with the cancer removed but the healing will take decades laced with the societal equivalent of chemotherapy and radiation to prevent the cancer's return.
