Glad we finally have an excellent new leader at CIA. The last one probably would not have made mention that IS is going over to the offensive vs Assad/Iranians/Russians at Deir Ezzor since perhaps the claims were out that they were so greatly weakened they could not do such a move by all the numbers that have been killed... But they seem to still be able to punch. Note their offensive has combined both the physical attack as the propaganda effort as well.

ISIS is festering in Syria, Russia is not doing much, if snything... ok nothing to fight them, Iran is doing the heavy lifting to fight ISIS in Syria for the Assad regime while the American led coalition is bombing ISIS targets.... someone tell me how the outcome if this will be good?

Russia is a little hard up on cash for wars and such. Help a tyrant out and lift sanctions? They promise not to invade EU.. much.

Perhaps - but it will take something different than what we have not been able to achieve with our current effort focused on terrain. If the idea and the fighter are the center of the problem - do as Grant did and pursue the fighter and skip the terrain based operations.....
