Should be a hate crime to attack anybody

I have never understood the "Hate Crime" concept. When you inflict harm on another it is not out of love or kindness. To me the idea of a "hate crime" is in its self racist. It says that your crime is based on skin and not on the fact you are a worthless person. This allows people to mount a defense and try to justify their actions.

I 100% support the Honest Blue, but I see this being applied in every case every time a cop is slapped by a drunk women, or accidentally injured by a perp. No the before mentioned should not go un punished but this law will allow harsh penalty's to be applied on a whim.

All crimes are inherently hate crimes to some degree.
