Interesting about Lonetree. That must have been an "interesting" assignment for you.
I did not ever know about the incident. Don't know if he had connections in New Mexico, and on the rez. Probably, but if his case was publicized here I didn't see any news about it. It was clearly a typical honeypot/honey trap. That brings to mind the Mordechai Vanunu honeypot/honey trap situation because of his statements about Dimona but it was intended to capture him for revealing facts about what had been lies.
I just now read that Lonetree apparently felt extorted into providing information he could access . . . but eventually it was proven some of what he was accused of providing had been attributed to Aldrich Ames. Sounds like it was a messy case, all the way around.
