A female Marine is hoping the community will turn out to say goodbye to a Hard Corps Warrior at his Friday funeral in Jacksonville.
Raoul Gagnon, MGySgt USMC Retired, 94, died Tuesday. According to Gagnon's family, he served 32 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a WWII, Vietnam and Korean War vet.
His duty stations included Camp Lejeune, Port of Prince, Haiti, Okinawa, Japan, and several bases in California, and he served as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor at Parris Island. Gagnon ended his military career by retiring in Jacksonville.
Known as "Top", Gagnon's grandson's wife says he was a devoted mentor and leader to many Marines throughout his years of service.
