I concur with Joe Oliver and hope that we have a conservative POTUS in January who will make decisions based on whats best for our country and not be burdened with catering to radical environmentalists who are clue-less too often LTC (Join to see)

I'm sorry Major, but I must need more coffee. The article kept going in circles. Maybe it's a Canadian thing. (I have to say though, if it's that tar sands crap, they can keep it.)
I've written many an article/Op Ed over the years about the stupidity of tree-hugging Americans. Most of em are more along the lines of, "Not in my back yard," types at any rate, and more than a few on the other side fall under that category as well.
People want cheaper gas, yet fight tooth and nail against every proposed refinery. The last refinery built in the US was in 1976 if I'm remembering correctly. It never occurs to them that technology has changed in the last 40 years, or that it's cost prohibitive to keep shoe-horning in "safety" features into existing refineries. It doesn't help that the left has insisted that additives and a whole other stew be put into gas. The capacity that we have here has found it more profitable, and easier, to export their product. Can't blame em.
I'll shut up here for now. I'll ramble on for pages before I've had enough coffee.
