Although this article is a few years old, it encompasses everything I wanted to say or express about my DISDAIN for Unions.
WHY DO WE KEEP UNIONS? They are bad for Business. My father used to have a few trucks and a Van he ran hot shots with. He said every company he went to that was run by the Union was worthless. Other folks I have talked to say the exact same thing...
Unions are the real Reason the Big Auto companies pulled out of Michigan and other states and most are over seas now...
The cost to do business with the Unions are too high...and the works are FAR LESS productive with all of their breaks through out the day and not motivated to work.
Why can't we get rid of UNIONS??

The only way that's going to happen is we need to get rid of Democrats. They have a symbiotic relationship. Between unions and corporate taxes, we can never be globally competitive and we will continue to shed jobs.
I was a member of the Teamsters years ago and, as with most large entities, they took care of themselves, not the rank and file.

I will lightly disagree- unions keep some industry honest while hurting others.

I agree with the opening of the article, at one time Unions were important in regards to representing workers. However with all the government regulations and oversight and the Dept. of Labor it really makes the need for unions questionable. Either have the Feds regulate, or have a union, but I don't think there should be both. It is the employer and the employees who suffer by this "double tap" tactic.
