I look forward to the day when I mention John Kerry and people say "John Who?"

You don't have to serve to be President, just ask Bill Clinton, or Barack Obama. Many Presidents did not serve in the military.

Col Carl Whicker - Which is fine if we weren't ripping apart one veteran's service out of one side of our mouth while out of the other holding someone who never served up as a paragon in comparison.

Frankly, I have no concerns with John Kerry's actual service. His conduct after leaving the service is what I take exception to. And I am not sure I would hold Mr. Trump up to be a paragon, just a man trying to do a very difficult job.

Col Carl Whicker - Fair enough, though it was the description of the thread I was responding to.
Mr. Kerry had a first amendment right to say what he did and you have a first amendment right to criticize him for it. Unpopular speech is always the hardest to defend.
