Nanny state to the extreme. Again, it is the fault of the weapon or tool. Not one of my knives, even when left outside the block, has stabbed anyone.

I tried insulting my knives, threatening them, bribing them, all with no results. Any of you more successful?

Charlie what is funny there are people who have had the best kitchen knives for years that were so sharp they would cut an anything. Over the many many years they have cut nothing other than what was intended.

The other hand I have no idea how many millions of times I have seen some troop issued or purchased a new tactical pocket ninja knife or some fixed blade designed to strike fear into the hearts of all bad guys and with in 24 hours have cut themselves, pretty bad.

The best example, my last tour in Afghanistan we tried to issue everyone new bentchmade auto openers, great knives. within hours of getting it one of the guys cut himself pretty dang bad. He had to get stitches and have a tendon repaired. It did not make him a bad guy, if it was not him it would have been some other guy. The point is, it happens all the time.

Its not nanny state - Its' the same as us really. Don't the masses *IN AMERICA* bleat and scream for all guns to be banned following a shooting? Of course they do. Where the UK falls down is that guns and knives are not linked to a law (2A) like they are here. Were guns in America not linked to a vote-requiring law, guns would have been removed in the USA after Columbine.

What’s next? Screwdrivers, needle nose pliers? Tent stakes? Look at the root cause.

They did arrest an electrician on his way to work last week or so, all because he had wire strippers in his pocket...

Maybe there should be a rethink on just Who we allow to be a Judge ! With an idiot like this on the bench that explains a lot of the problems with Courts that don't work ! Almost anything can be a weapon, what if a baseball bat was used ? it already has a round end, saw off most of the length so You can't get the same effect of swinging it against a victim ? I use the knife in the kitchen on food, eating and preparation, that's what it for. Throw a rock at a person its a weapon but until its used like that its just a rock. I could go on but I already get it apparently this moron on the bench doesn't !

I do understand that but We have the same sort of problems with judges in the US, it's not just British judges. He is still an example of what is wrong both here and there and for the same reasons and why in both places there are judges that need to be removed from the bench. I feel We can still make a point to mention it as a common example here and there.
