Hmmm, interesting way to disenfranchise potential 17,000 voters. I am for more openness, but also advocate for verification (and proof) of the person's identity. If you have to show an ID to get aboard a plane, why wouldn't you have to show one to vote? It makes no sense.

MAJ Rene De La Rosa It is so stupidly simple that it will never happen. Issue a voter ID card like a driver's license. Put a photo on it so that a voter with their voter registration card has both a photo ID and their voter card in one convenient document. Issue the damned thing at the DMV and call it a day.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - whoa whoa whoa there good sir, we already have to wait for an undisclosed amount of time at the DMV when we have to deal with our vehicles, are you telling me I now have to wait an additional amount of time to get a card to vote? The DMV personnel that are just as helpful as TSA is wouldn't know what to do! Around every election cycle they would be swamped with people, bigger areas like LA, DC, NYC would be swamped with hoards of zombies trying to get voter cards.

Why dont we just issue a vote card with our SSN at birth, or at the granted citizenship date and what the eligible day to vote is and any year afterwards. We lose one, have to go through the same ordeal to obtain one as we would our SSN card, call a number, fax birth cert or citizenship form to verify, pay $$ and wait 4-6weeks to get the card. Last minute loss? Too bad, should have kept it in a binder in a lockbox at a bank thats been around for decades.

But you get the point I'm getting at. Having the DMV issue it would be a nightmare, just simplify it to birth and granted citizenship, photo can be updated through the Postal Service! Make them earn their keep! No one really uses USPS, alter them to this!

SPC(P) Patrick Westbrook - Still too simple to be implemented, but not a bad idea.

1) He is not the AG for Kansas, he is actually the Secretary of State of Kansas. He has never served as an AG in Kansas or any other state.

2) His given name is Kris William Kobach. "Kansas" is not in there. Sorry, but his initials are KWK.

3) Your accusation of him being KKK is the same as saying someone who lives in the township of Kendall, in the county of Kearny in the state of Kansas must be a member of or support the KKK because of the coincidence of the initials of where they live. I guess it could be worse... I could live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Because if you spell Tulsa backwards it spells "A SLUT" and we all know that only sluts live there.

In case you missed it the last two lines of #3 are nothing more than sarcasm.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel He must be the old douche bag that Booger mentions in Revenge of the Nerds. This is nothing more than an asshole with an agenda trying to disenfranchise voters. I hope he loses the case, and is forced to pay the plaintiffs legal costs.

Same Here ST3. I've heard him speak several times. Very Well Spoken Lawyer but he is the one behind a lot of the laws written in other states to Disenfranchise Voters, Restrict the Rights of the LGBT Community and turn back Roe vs Wade. He is a Giant Douche Bag in my Book.
