What would be your plan to care for children who are detained with parents crossing illegally? Do you advocate building family style detention centers? Just asking.

Obviously the better option is to keep families together, on either side of the border. If we are going to keep it that tight, don't let the kids in without their parent, legal or not. As for the separation from families for illegal felons argument I keep hearing, ANYONE who breaks the law and goes to prison gets separated from their family. At least if they get deported their family can visit them, but if they stay here they should end up in jail and...separated from their family. I don't mind if the POTUS picks an option that costs us less.

Reading through the article it looks like when the US detains an illegal at the border they have limited options. The cost of having "family facilties" to deal with this would be astronomical. The separation of families is not a permanent thing. The Children would be placed in foster care while the parent's case is adjudicated then reunited.
