King under the mountain: Building Colorado’s Cold War command center

I used to do business out there back in 2001. The facility would actually seem very familiar to those in the Navy that served on Ships. The facility was built by the same people who built our fleet. It literally looks and smells like a naval ship inside.

I visited there when I was in Colorado Springs. Very cool but I do believe it would be hard for me to live inside a mountain for very long.

It's like science fiction almost, building underground cities/bunkers...........Love this stuff
