We were always told that the library at the Naval Academy was sinking because the engineers forgot to figure in the weight of books when they designed it. The building was built on reclaimed land, too.

SN Greg Wright Doesn't everything in San Francisco lean to the left? Or for that matter, the entire state?

I know they do I get down as deep as it could to hit solid bedrock. I know that the Waterfront area that was hit from the 1989 earthquake was filled with rubble from the 1906 earthquake. Liquifaction is always a possible threat in a strong earthquake. Earthquakes are always a bigger threat than global warming in the San Francisco area.
