I've told you guys, I saw one of those things lift off near Lackland, from Kelly, as I'd been on the track at USAF OTS...I heard this INCREDIBLE turbine noise, looked to my right, and saw that crazy thing just LEAP OFF the runway in the distance, at an INSANE angle as it got off the concrete, with condensation on both wings...it just rolled along, and suddenly went "BOING!!!", as it got off the runway, I could just make it out, Kelly was close enough to Lackland I could actually see it...the lifting body of the fuselage also generated visible condensation I could also make out...I just figured you'd all get a kick outta that story, and yeah, it really did happen, just that way, honest...the thing was positively GYNORMOUS....

I was on C-141s hopping flights a cpl of times, so yeah, I could definitely see that.....
