I think just from a personal point of view of course, when I read "The report blames those malfunctions on inadequate training"that harkens me back to the bad old days in the RVN when we were issued that piece of crap "boy it's swell it's Mattel" M16,not withstanding at that time the weapon did not have the chromium bolt and receiver group, the cartridges had the wrong powder mixtures and the gas tube was prone to damage because plastic is not the strongest material, but ok we'll let the bean counters determine what weapon systems work based on their expert knowledge of OUR training,as you can probably tell by now I don't trust let's just say management.

Thanks for sharing the news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that unfortunately the Army's XM25 launcher malfunctioned at least three times during field tests in Afghanistan -- once each in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
I expect the major program decision which come as early as the end of the calendar year will not be favorable for this system for many reasons but primarily "other issues raised by Army Rangers about the XM25's weight (14 pounds) and limited capacity (five 25mm grenade rounds)."

Really 5 ea, 30 mm rounds? The concept sound ok, what is the Effective Casualty Radius of that managed 'impact'?

My memory fails. I seem to recall telling the CG of a 40 mm Grenade Launcher, M-203 having a 5 meter ECR @ 130 meters for point targets!
