Thanks for letting us know that Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf on September 8, 2016 demanding a further clarification of the rules that went into effect in August which ban tobacco from troops' care packages SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I am glad that the ban is limited to just manufacturers and vendors handing out free cigars and products. So family members can send whatever they want in care packages.
On then other hand trading was one of the more enjoyable activities after you received a box of C-rations, MREs, etc. Trading what you don't want for what you do has been a time-honored military tradition.

Cigarettes used to be part of a C-Rations Package. Nicotine is a Drug. Lawmakers represent Tobacco Growers. Ever heard of Boehner Bucks. When Boehner was first elected to Federal Office he used to hand them out like candy to his fellow legislators that supported Big Tobacco. I Agree with the Decision but I understand Legislators discomfort especially those in Tobacco Country. Yeah I smoked from 14 to 39. Been Clean almost 2 decades now.
