Ive never had to post bail, but from what I read and hear, those bail bondsmen are similar to leeches. Now, this story more or less proves that.

Bail bonds plan would shortchange victims, judges say
Last year in Wisconsin, $9.5 million in bail money from criminals was used to compensate their victims, money thatwould be put at risk under a proposed private bail bond system.

HUGE business down here in FL. I have one or two bail bond places near my house and I live 20 miles from the county jail. Is that really necessary? They must be doing well enough as they either own or are renting a big house where their business is.
