I agree with LTC Ford I would think that this honor would go to a deserving "Enlisted Soldier" either active duty, reserve duty, or retired.

This seems really bizarre that Retired Lt. Gen. David Grange Jr. will be honored Oct. 3 during the Association of the United States Army annual meeting in Washington, D.C. as this year's honorary Sergeant Major of the Army SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
I would expect there are many extremely fine SGMs and CSMs who could be selected for this honorary title.
As I mentioned in another discussion then MG Grange was Fort Benning Commander when I went through Jump School, IMPOC and IOBC.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL That's a pretty distinguished record he has. I'm sure he is most deserving of this award.

SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser very worthy of the honor, hand down IMHO.
