After hospitals in South Florida filled up with a record-breaking number of COVID-19 patients, residents are lining up and waiting hours at testing sites.
Doctors, county leaders and other health experts, meanwhile, are pleading with the public to get vaccinated.
“While we desperately want to be done with this pandemic, COVID-19 is clearly not done with us, and so our battle must last a little longer,” said CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky.
That’s the grim reality during a summer surge of COVID-19 patients.

Who cares? Look up the weekly average death rates. It doesn't matter how many positive cases there are.

LTC Eugene Chu even the hospitalization figures are moronic. What qualifies as being hospitalized? Being admitted, one would assume. How long are these people being admitted for? Are these hospitalizations overlapping? Are they being admitted primarily as a precaution--hooking them up to an O2 sensor and monitoring them for a couple hours while they start meds--or are all of these hospitalizations cases in which the patient is in dire need of emergency care, where death is all but imminent?
