Throughout my career, I think I had senior leaders fired, er, experienced their 'confidence being lost' exactly twice. We in the command were told why. That's it in my 37 years, 6 presidents, and 4 governors. Now, it's almost a monthly thing. Either their are some folks with some serious failings finding their way to Battalion Command and above, or it's a purge. I know what my heart tells me, but my head says another thing so it's just subjective to me.

When you see commands by certain demographics much higher than the percentage of the demographic in those positions, you must explore DEI as the reason. I had two BN commander of the same race back to back and you probably could not find two people with that MOS in the BN but they found them to command? Both were outstanding soldiers but percentage wise it did not add up.
