Turkey is supporting UN backed force - Government of National Accord (GNA) and France, Russia, Egypt and US (sort of) are supporting the rebel force led by Khalifa Haftar - Libyan National Army (LNA).
1) Our foreign policy more or less resulted in the current state of Libya.
2) Our linkage to Khalifa Haftar is complicated - he's Russian military trained yet is linked to the CIA.
3) Haftar is a dual Libyan-US citizen and speaks Arabic, English, Italian and Russian, and is conversational in French.
As such I'm not convinced Haftar is aligned with US policy or ever has been for that matter.
While the articles is about the disconnect of two NATO countries relating to Libya I feel the problem stems from Russian interference. Much like Syria Russia is once again brokering a peace agreement for a country where our foreign policy floundered. With it they expand their sphere of influence.
When Russia has a permanent military presence in Libya don't be surprise.

Gee, maybe Marcon hadn't read the news since Erdogan announced he was sending "aid" and "troop" to Liyba back on 1/5.
