About 75 % of the items my wife and I purchase are American made.

Are you sure because some items I thought were 100% made in america actually were manufactured overseas and then assembled here the labels don't really cover that part.

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth - I do and it's tough because the tag do not cover these technicalities. Like Ford the raw materials are manufactured in China but are assembled here in the US while Toyota has car completely made here with plants in Ohio Missouri and Wyoming.

Try to buy American as much as we can but sometimes, especially with electronics, it's hard or cost prohibitive. Definitely choose American made over foreign made when products are comparable.

Electronic almost none of it is made in america and when they are they expensive because you pay for us labor, union, insurance etc. The problem with electronic they require smelting for the circuit boards we got rid of those jobs for a reason because the environmental impact due to chemical run off. Not to mention us manufacturing is not cheap like it was in the 20th century the US labor force has been steadily pricing itself out of the market and you want to argue about quality these days even China is developing quality made products like flashlights and even cell phones.

Ya you're right, about only electronics still made in US are audio related, amplifiers, headphones, cables, speakers, etc. and they're high end stuff. Agree that the days of assuming foreign made equates to poor quality are long gone. One only needs to look at auto industry along with consumer appliances to see that.
