No, it's allegedly an NRA plot when a mentally-ill loner grabs a gun and shoots up the school from which he was expelled. It's the NRA's fault when the award-winning deputy sheriff assigned to protect the school hides outside. It's also the NRA's fault when the sheriff's department visits this maniac 39 times in the past and still doesn't take away the maniac's guns. And it's purely great when CNN sets up a video ambush where a stadium full of emotionally-charged students threaten an NRA spokesperson (Dana Loesch) with murder and death when she offers an opposing viewpoint. NRA is the world's best gun safety group, by the way, they train thousands of students in safe gun handling and marksmanship every year. Guns, knives and motor vehicles don't kill. People using guns, knives and vehicles badly or with malice are the killers, not the tools they employ. Making complex policy decisions in the heat of emotion is a really bad idea, and always has been.

I see some trends:
Warning Signs
Reported to the Police for previous issues
Police know the perp

Conclusion: Common Sense and reasonable restrictions on knife ownership. No knives over 2 inches.

We should also require background checks at any kitchen supply store just in case a perp wants to use one to attack people.
