That sad part is that like most things on Duffelblog, there is some truth behind the story. Just the names and location have been changed to protect the innocent. LOL

You know I have to comment about this one because its so great that our soldiers are so vocal on what they use there rating from the VA on these days and a lot of veterans are struggling for healthcare or just care from the VA alone, some soldiers with PTSD wish for 20% or 50% and here you have a soldier or a SM telling the world he used his rating money to pay off his new truck. DUDE WTF is wrong with you, coming out on social media and telling you shit so people can see there should be another name made up like STOTEN VALOR for you as well. it like your taken money from the VA and wasting it. I seen this with lots of soldiers who don't have jobs they depend on the VA to get them out of binds and if it was not for the VA they would not have anything. Well. your lucky your serviced or you went to combat or whatever you did, it makes sick to see a SM driving down the road with $60,000 truck and they give nothing to a support an organization or for a benefit for soldiers one time. It makes my stomach turn to see these people live in these big homes with 200k or 300k and rob the VA and there's nothing really wrong with them and than you have the guy on the couch who has the real problem who can't speak for himself and can't get help or even provide for his family and the VA knows nothing about them. What we doing about them? So guy with the 70% you should be proud you getting something cool you went and found a special sticker , no one cares if you earned the NDS medal because if I saw driving down the road in PA, I'd crash into you and keep going. You sound like your stuck in your own world and you need an award for much more then the service you gave your country.

I agree - my last jump I cracked a vertebrate (which I didn't find out about until years later), but explained the occasional sharp pain - I'm sure I could get some disability, but I know there are other veterans that are far more disable and need the help.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there is some jackass out there doing exactly this. The damned entitlement attitude that some veterans have just pisses me off.

Yes some do have an entitlement attitude ... sadly its usually not the ones that are truly entitled. I have found those that actually did shit, and were in the shit rarely toot their own horn about it. I met a WWII Vet out in Germany about 6 years ago, missing an arm, and from what I was told had a plate in his skull as he was missing part of that to. He was a Tank commander I think that's what they were called back then, anyways seems he got run over by his own tank.... I didn't press to much but he made a few cracks and then changed the subject. It was the past and he wanted to talk about the future.
