"and that recruits were reluctant to come to him with problems, including medical issues."
This was the norm when I went through boot camp. Unless you we on your death bed you didn't want to ask the DI to go to sick call for fear of harassment and getting cussed out along with other comments. His career is over for sure even if he is cleared of these charges, which I doubt he will be.

“Although it is impossible to determine, his perceived indifference to the well-being of recruits demonstrated prior to the Crucible, could have impacted Recruit Beals or other recruit’s willingness to seek medical attention when Recruit Beals was clearly showing signs of a heat injury during the Crucible,” the investigation found.
The temperatures at Parris Island on the day Beals died reached Black Flag conditions, when Marines are required to stop all physical training, the command investigation found.

Found guilty or not, his career is over

For heat and black flag conditions, there is a whole chain of command that should be on the hook. The series DI, the series CO, the Company DI, the Company CO, and on up.

Sad commentary if he is guilty may he serve a life long sentence. If it is common practice for his Company, may all the leaders that turned their heads be charged and convicted for the same.
