Marines Who Fired Rocket Launchers Now Worry About Their Brains

I remember a sergeant had the chance to shoot a couple of - real AT-4s. I was 50 meters away and I saw him him shoot both of them. He told me later he felt like crap and he never wants to shoot them again. He must have had traumatic brain injury from that experience. This was at Fort Bliss in 2004.

Good post bringing this type of injury to light. Concussion has caused injury and death with the shock wave never leaving a mark on the body. This has been observed and noted in combat action time and time again. There is no doubt weapon shock wave injury in training happens.
Good luck to those Marines and all other Veterans in their struggle with the Veterans Administration. Injuries off this type, smoke damage will be denied, delayed until dead just like always.

When I was in we would wear hearing protection at the range but never in the field as a dismount and I have fired everything from a .45 to a .50 and laws rockets, at-4s,dragons,claymores, satchel charges,c-4 was standing about 10' from a m-1 when they fired the main gun and know I am paying for it got ringing in my ears other symptoms to many to list so take heed and take care
