Yesterday I posted a short video covering the commands by Mission Control to Unlock the Helicopter Ingenuity's rotor blades, but there wasn't much to show their movement... This video shows a number of still shots which show that the commands worked and the rotor blades have moved... If NASA had commanded a large number of stills and then placed those images in sequence, it would show the rotor blades in motion, which is what I expect sometime today... as the plan is to rotate the blades at a speed less than what is required for lift into the Martian atmosphere, (approximately 1K - 1.2K rotational speed. I will check the lift off rotational speed, but I verified that it is in the range of 2,500 rpm. Please note that the two rotor levels spin in opposite directions for maximum lift.)
At any rate we are only a few days away from the 1st lift off and flying event... The excitement builds... Moving forward, there are some great image shots throughout this short video, which I believe you will enjoy... The resolution is amazing... BTW, check out Major William Price's APOD from Yesterday, which includes a 3d Image if you have your Red and Blue glasses!
I hope you enjoy the video,
Kerry
